The aims and objectives of the Contact Sports First Aid (8hrs) one day course is to enable delegates to carry out appropriate emergency first aid in a club and competition environment. Following the course, delegates will be able to manage a casualty who is injured or suffering from a serious illness until the emergency services arrive.
The course is delivered by instructors with a knowledge and practical application of first aid in a contact sports arena.

8 Hours (1 Days)
This can be broken down into smaller training units to suit your requirements. Training must be completed over a maximum of four weeks.
This course is delivered using a range of techniques including, instructor led presentation, group practice, group discussion, PowerPoint, video presentation.
Course Assessment
This course is subject to on-going assessment by the Instructor throughout the course to confirm the delegates’ knowledge and understanding and also a range of casualty simuluation exercises.
Course Certification
The course content covers first aid requirements for the national governing body BJA, BJC, BKA, BT sports coach awards, and instructor awards.
All successful delegates will be awarded a certificate valid for three years,
Should you wish to host this course on your own site you will need a room that will comfortably seat your amount of delegates and also allow for floor practice during the course and additional space is also required for the casualty simulation exercises.

- First Aid kits – content, incident recording
- Priorities of treatment – primary survey
- Unconscious casualty
- Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Asthma.
- Circulatory system problems – heart attack, angina, blood loss, internal bleeding, shock
- Secondary survey and bandaging techniques
- Sprains & strains
- Fractures signs & symptoms
- Head & spinal injuries
- Eye injuries
- Casualty simulation exercises
- Course closure and evaluation
